Machine learning, the ability for a computer to learn based on real-life experiences, will someday revolutionize the marketplace and replace human employees with a computer.
Anthony Goldbloom, a pioneeer of machine learning, gave a fantastic TED Talk explaining how he expects machine learning to impact our lives and the job market. Have a listen…it’s a short video and well worth watching.
In particular, I agree with Anthony’s notion that humans do not stand a chance at competing with machines when it comes to performing redundant tasks. We’ve seen this occur in manufacturing, but we’ll soon see it in white collar jobs as well as machines learn to do more “mind work”.
What are your thoughts on the future of machine learning?
